The Weet-Bix Twenty20 Cup Series aims to encourage enjoyment, maximum participation and spectator appeal whilst allowing players to develop their cricket skills, knowledge and instinct based on the preface that Twenty20 Cricket is fast, different and can be used as an effective alternative to training.

Along with other forms of Cricket, Twenty20 will assist the growth of our game so Cricket is the ’sport of choice’ for all Australians.

It is an exciting opportunity to get involved in the ever popular modified format of our game, with a sensational carrot at the end – an opportunity to play on the SCG !! Formerly known as the Michael Clarke Twenty20 Cup, a new naming rights sponsor has evolved, this year the competition being known as the “Weet-Bix Twenty20 Cup”

The new Weet-Bix Cup website is now active at http://weetbixcup.nsw.cricket.com.au/

Available at the website under Documentation, please find all the relevant information and entry forms to be completed and returned by September 12th.

Last year we had 13 teams with St Patricks 14A being crowned champions Twenty/20 champions.

With a revised format and a scope for more teams, now is a great time to get your club side involved.

Kingsgrove Cricket Academy is dedicated to improving as many cricketers as possible. We think one of the best ways to get to as many cricketers as possible is to improve the standard of coaching coming from the people who spend the most time with these cricketers ….

Representative cricket is the second rung on the ladder to playing cricket at the highest level, playing for Australia.

SSJCA enables the development of our junior players by introducing three levels of representative cricket. Initially, as a young cricketer, SSJCA runs a development squad for our Under 10 players. The players receive specialised coaching focusing on batting, bowling and fielding over a number of Sunday’s. At the conclusion of the program, the players are split into 2 teams and compete against each other under Rep Cricket conditions.

Secondly, SSJCA participates in the President’s Cup in ages 11 through to 16. It has proved a very popular introduction to representative cricket to many a player whom has missed out on selection in the NSWDCA.

Thirdly, young SSJCA cricketers aspiring to the highest levels first do so by gaining selection to teams entered by the Association in the NSW Districts Cricket Association (NSWDCA) annual competitions. These competitions today feature teams from Sydney and regional areas such as Newcastle, Illawarra, Central Coast and the ACT.

Of these players, the best are selected by Cricket NSW to be Emerging Blues and by the Sutherland District Cricket Club to play in the AW Green Shield.

In total, the SSJCA will provide 168 spots for our players to represent the Shire.

Register for the SSJCA 2010/11 Season in late August 2010 through Cricket Online www.cricket-online.info

For coaches wishing to help with our Representative Program, please fill in this form and return it to Tony Neale by Friday, 20th August 2010.
