St Patricks Sutherland crowned U/14 Michael Clarke Twenty20 Cup Champions

St Patricks Sutherland recorded a convincing eight wicket victory over Normanhurst-Warrawee at the Sydney Cricket Ground today to take out the U/14 Division of the Michael Clarke Twenty20 Cup.
In a match that was interrupted by rain, Normanhurst-Warrawee batted first and was bowled out in 19.3 overs for 97. They scored runs quickly however lost wickets too consistently, which prevented them from making an even bigger score.
Luke Thornburn’s innings was a highlight for Normanhurst-Warrawee, with his 26 runs including three fours and two sixes.
For St Patricks Sutherland Joe Chessman, Dominic Sullivan and Trent Smith all took two wickets while Dan Momirovski and Simon McGrillen took one each.
St Patricks Sutherland scored the winning runs for the loss of two wickets in 15 overs. The highlight was an unbeaten 68 run third wicket stand between Nick Swanson (32 not out) and captain Brendan Royall (34 not out).
Royall’s innings also earned him the Player of the Match award.
