The Committee of the Sutherland Shire Junior Cricket Association would like to congratulate all players on making the this season’s Finals. Some players play 6 or more seasons of junior cricket and do not make a final. You are fortunate to be playing in a final so enjoy the occasion and grab every opportunity that comes your way to make a difference in the last game of 2009-10.
Playing in a final is most certainly an occasion to rejoice and to remember for a long time; but more importantly Saturday’s match will become a part of your lifelong memories. You will always have a special bond with the mates you played with and against in the SSJCA Final on Saturday 13th March 2010.
We would like to suggest a few things for you to keep in mind that will help make Saturday a wonderful experience for everyone:
- Enjoy the day;
- Encourage and support your team mates even when they make a mistake;
- If you win then be a gracious winner;
- If you lose then be a good loser;
- Acknowledge the good play and the tough competition of your opposition;
- Thank your coach and the other team helpers for their efforts in building such a good team.
Some of you will not have had an official umpire before; we call them ‘Black and Whites’. Having a B&W will make the day even more special. You will find them friendly and quite approachable, but you should also respect their role and accept their decisions without any show of dissent.
Finally, congratulations again on your successful season and on making it to the finals of one of biggest and best junior cricket competitions in NSW.
