Below is listed the Major Award winners for the season. Congratulations to all players involved.

Illawong Menai Kookaburra’s are extremely proud and would like to congratulate Jamie Brown on winning the SSJCA Junior Cricketer of the Year Award for the 2009-10 season. This has been Jamie’s 8th season with the Illawong Menai Club, in this time he has won 5 SSJCA finals, including this years 16A’s premiership and been awarded the Kookaburra’s Junior Cricketer of the Year. The SSJCA Cricketer of the Year is an award that I am sure he is proud to have won and a reward for the way he approaches his cricket. Some of Jamie’s achievements this year are:
Jamie is passionate about cricket and has a strong desire to continually improve his game to the highest level. Jamie gained maturity as a cricketer during his first year in U16’s and is no doubt looking forward to next season. Congratulations Jamie on your success this season!! You are a worthy winner of the SSJCA Junior Cricketer of The Year Award and all of us at Illawong Menai are proud of your achievements.

IMCC Secretary
The major achievement for any club is to win the “Bertshell Trophy”, - the Club Championship.
This year it was won by the Engadine Dragons CC, the fifth time in 10 years they have collected the trophy.
They won the 12A’s and were runners up in 10A’s, 14A’s, 16A’s and 10C’s, leading the club championship from start to finish.
At the SSJCA Presentation Day, Club President Steve Jones and Club Legend Harry Robbins accepted the trophy from SSJCA President Martin Cole.
The annual presentation will be held at the Sutherland District Trade Union Club, 57 Manchester Road, Gymea on Sunday the 30th May 2010.
The change in venue is to accommodate the increase in numbers.
As in prior years, the format will involve two sections.
Important reminders:

The Final series has now concluded with many great games and performances on show. From the excitement of the 16A’s where the underdogs Illawong Menai defeated the minor premiers Engadine through to the 10F’s where Sylvania Heights defeated a gallant Miranda, the kids of the Shire enjoyed their time in the playing field. Win or lose, playing in a final is a time to treasure, and everyone will have learnt from the experience and come back stronger next year.
